Finishing years of asceticism, monk Futaro descends to town dressed in his worn-out Kasaya robe. Futaro is a heavy drinking, womanizing, free-willed, reckless menace with no common sense, constantly putting everyone he meets at his mercy. However, Futaro’s freewheeling lifestyle releases pressure from the hearts of others.

This ascetic entertainment will lecture and guide the lost and troubled people of the modern day; you will certainly want to put the lessons into practice! Starring Hayato Ichihara as the eccentric monk, director Keisuke Shibata, of “Aiga, Soide, Koi”, directs the long-awaited film adaptation of the masterpiece manga by Hiroshi Motomiya, who is also known for his work“ Salaryman Kintaro” and“ Ore no Sora” (My Sky).
