A young, “below average” man dreams of becoming a documentary writer. He is still in the process of realizing his dream, working at a small film production company where he struggles through an unreasonable hierarchical relationship with his senior director and with how to interact with the film subjects. He has a partner to whom he can talk about and who understands his dream, but one day he erupts in rage at his senior’s reporting attitude on site. Feeling isolated at work, he heads to Nishinari in Osaka̶as if to search for a new sense of belonging̶in order to interview a boy who has lost hope, whom he had met before. However, he cannot find the boy’s whereabouts...
