Yayoi Kusama has produced her unique art for over 70 years, becoming one of the most famous artists in the world.
She continues to devote herself to creating artwork and making brilliant achievements in various fields, while going through difficulties including her past of living in Japan during World War II, her family disapproving of her passion for art, racial and gender discrimination in the art industry, as well as her own illness.
The documentary captures the unknown past of Kusama, from her work ranging from her childhood until she left for the US on her own, as well as how her art was perceived in Japan and overseas.
